COVID-19 Family Emergency Relief
Together we can make a difference! Your generosity will help Minnesotan children and families in need access critical support like groceries, housing, health-services and more.
While COVID-19 has been tough on everyone, it has been particularly disastrous for families that were already struggling to make ends meet; leading to an impact that extends far beyond those who have become infected.
Vulnerable families are experiencing lost wages, can’t pay rent, and need help now. Together, we can make a difference by quickly delivering direct support.

Whether it’s support with groceries or help with rent, your contribution will help children & families find more stable and self-sufficient lives.
Real impact, Real lives
Care in Action Minnesota works in collaboration with County Social Workers and community groups and organizations across the state to provide timely, crucial support to families in need. Read the stories of some of those we’ve been able to support so far or still need our help. To protect the confidentiality of the families receiving support we’ve left identifying information vague.
Mom & two kids secure stable housing
Ramsey County
This family had been experiencing homelessness before the pandemic began, often couch hopping with friends. By covering the remainder of a deposit, we helped mom secure safe and stable housing for her and her kids.
Assure Housing & Finalize Adoption
Hennepin County
A young man and his wife had been in the process of adopting his two toddler-aged siblings, after they were placed in foster care. Covering the cost of the past due rent prevented them from losing their home and allowed them to continue with the adoption process, to keep this family together.
Mom & Infant Fleeing Violence
Washington County
A mother and infant son had been living in transitional housing, but were recently forced to make other living arrangements due to a fear of violence. We were able to provide a bed for each of them, and a week of groceries to get settled in.
Send crucial support now
Vulnerable children and families across Minnesota need direct support to cover their basic needs.
And they need it now.

In order to respond to the immediate emergency needs in our communities, support is provided on a first come, first served, continual basis.
For financial housing support, we do require that the support provided leads to more permanent and stable housing for longer term than just that month.
When we receive a request from a County Social Worker for a family in need, we will often share the story via email and facebook. If you give through those links, your donation will go to support that family.
